GRADUATES...TAKE YOUR POSITION!!!

We live in the world with diverse knowledge filled with people with brilliant minds. An individual with the ability to think out of the box and provide wonderful ideas but no one is taking the initiative. People who have the insight knowledge of what is really going on in this country yet there is an absence of firm knowledgeable steps to accomplish certain task. Our corrupt bureaucracy can do so much but they can't motivate our brothers and sisters back at home.

Graduate's you need to take your position. Graduate's at some point, I blame you for what is happening in our society's back at home. I mean after we graduate, we probably get a new place in Mildrand to rent live there for most of the time. We don't really understand the concept of giving back. Giving back doesn't always denote that we ought to pop out money from our pockets and give it someone. Giving back doesn't mean that you have to give to charity all the time. Ask yourself one thing, when was the last time u actually yoked with someone of not your kind? When was the last time you gave an advice to someone younger than you? Who can you boldly point out and say that, I have changed that girl or boy life? Do you think there is someone who looks up to you? Are you an expiration or inspiration where you come from?

Recently, i have discovered something back at home. I sometimes happen to wear my UCT (University Of Cape Town) T -shirts and honesty speaking; I don't think people even know that what kind of an animal is UCT, does it bite? What color is? And what does do? What is it for? I take the bit of blame for it. The youth of nowadays don't know things because we don't tell and share such knowledge with them. Some graduates come from places where the access of internet or even a computer is very minimal, those who have them, use them for Dj purposes or playing games but still we don't communicate with the teenagers.

We don't stress the importance of Universities. Graduates you need to take initiation in your society! Find someone, be a mentor or add value to his/her life. I would argue more that I am where I am because of motivation I use to receive daily and most of graduates will certainly agree with me in providing their testimonies of their life that motivation played a key part. I haven't achieved that much but I still think that it is necessarily that I say something and actually do something about it. Picture this; we have approximately 5000 graduates around my neighborhood and some undergraduates who will soon join that paradigm. If a single one of them could just be a mentor to one matric learner, imagine how our society could be in the near future. Tell them the importance of varsity and education as a whole. The funds are available in the government to put everyone in varsity.

I know we have limited space in varsities but the issue is that only few learners from this country actually do apply for further education. There is still that mentality that, i want to finish school or school ends in matric and that's where graduates must come in. If your a graduate or an undergraduate and your reading this article, I advice you to finish reading it quick because you have some lot of thinking to do in regards to how are you going to bring change in your society. Start now, we can make a different. Stand up! Your society needs you more than before. It can start with you!
